I had ordered a 383 SBC rotating assembly with internally balanced SCAT crank and paid extra for the mirror polished finish, forged pistons, 6" rods with clearancing and sizing, the better ARP rod bolts, that came with all bearings, gaskets, and HV oil pump. BUT....Upon receiving the shipment and inspecting I had determined that unfortunately they accidentally grabbed the wrong EXTERNALLY BALANCED crankshaft and sent it with the rotating assembly. I called them right away and explained the predicament I was now going to be in, as the vehicle these components were going into was my only and daily driver to get to work each day. The woman I spoke with told me that she explained what had happened to Skip White and he advised her to have me re-package everything and that a completely new rotating assembly exact as I ordered was immediately being machined and balanced and would be sent out with OVERNIGHT shipping to me. I was to leave the incorrect packages that I initially received in the same location outside my garage and the shipping company (UPS-I think) would pick them up and replace them with the new rotating assembly packages being sent as replacements. To my amazement, on the following evening when I returned from work, THE COMPLETE NEW AND CORRECT ROTATING ASSEMBLY WAS SITTING ON MY FRONT DOOR STEP. However, the delivery driver must have been different than the first because he entered the gate to my house and not to my garage where the original packaging was still located. I called and they said they would be sending them out again the following day to pickup the packages (I had placed a tarp over them to prevent rain as it was in the forcast) Either they did not show up or the UPS office I called did not inform the driver that the boxes were under the blue tarp. I was contacted by Skip White staff in regards to the delivery company picking up the parts and I assured them that they were all still in same location that original driver had delivered them. Unfortunately I think I contacted the wrong shipping company. (I think it should have been FED EX and not UPS that I called in regards to informing the driver that I placed tarp over boxes to prevent rain or thieves from seeing them.) LUCKILY THEY DID INDEED RETRIEVE THE ORIGINAL SHIPMENT AND DELIVERED BACK TO SKIP WHITE PERFORMANCE. I HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM TO EVERYONE IN TUCSON. THEIR INTEGRITY, PROFESSIONALISM, WORKMANSHIP, QUALITY, AND ORDER PROCESSING/SHIPPING IS SECOND TO NONE IN THE ENTIRE RACING INDUSTRY.
I WENT ON TO PLACE AN ADDITIONAL ORDER FOR MORE PARTS AND THE 200CC NKB HEADS WITH THE BETTER VALVE UPGRADE... THESE HEADS ARE AWESOME!!
