The tech showed up in the window and quickly diagnosed the problem. The air handler blower wasn't running because the pullout disconnect had over time distorted and melted making the connection unreliable. The quote to replace was for $525. I was very skeptical and declined the repair. I ended up finding the exact replacement part for $10.25 at Lowe's and replaced it in about 45 minutes. Perhaps the work was punched in incorrectly and hence quoted incorrectly, but the amount if accurate certainly lacks integrity and deviates from my past experiences with Modern Mechanical.
