I'm 67 years old with a very slow swing speed. I enjoy playing golf regardless of the fact it is at a very low level (I don't even keep a handicap). But I'm also very short and wanted to make sure that my current clubs (Ping GMAX) had an appropriate length and lie. I wanted just a "static" fitting but was told that a full fitting would allow them to check the shaft and optimize all the parameters of my clubs. I was reluctant as I had had a very bad experience with a "renowned" clubfitter in Mineola, NY, but trusted the reviews I read of Club Champion on GolfWrx and went ahead with the full fitting.

I couldn't have been happier; my fitter did the best job possible given the limitations of my swing, allowing me to go through myriad heads and shafts.. It was found that my shafts were too short, that the lie on the clubs too upright and that a lighter shaft would work better for me. This is how a club fitting session should be run. Yes, the fitting fee is not refundable if you purchase clubs from them and their prices aren't discounted but I can live with that as I trust they really know what they're doing and the information is invaluable to me. I'm also contemplating getting a new set, built to my specs, but may have to wait a bit.
