Actually **CONTACTED** Me!!
One of the most pathetic aspects of home maintenance these days is that companies won't even CONTACT potential customers, who are explicitly ready to give those companies money. It's one thing to say, "Sorry, that's not the type of work we do, but please call us when you need someone who does xxx." It's quite another to not even CONTACT, by phone or e-mail, someone who needs home maintenance. This included the first company I contacted when I needed help with our water heater.
Ben Franklin Plumbing was QUITE a refreshing difference. Within five to ten minutes of posting a request on their web-site, I got a call back, with a promise of contact by a technician. That second call came within another five minutes, and he agreed to come to our home within 25 minutes -- which he did. Within 30 minutes of his arrival, the "problem" with our water heater (which was actually our mistake) was resolved. In other words, it took just over an hour between initial contact and fixing the problem -- when the first company I sought didn't even contact us for TWO DAYS.
