We pay about $250 a year for maintenance and recently had our air conditioner’s annual checkup. Ernst’s serviceman examined the system and reported it in excellent condition, which he said was expected since it is only about 5 years old. ONLY TWO DAYS LATER, the air conditioner quit cooling properly. It took two more visits before they realized a part needed to be replaced and got the air conditioner working correctly again. We were charged almost $250 AGAIN. What is the point of paying for maintenance? I asked them that question - and have not heard a thing since.

Hi Doug. Thanks for letting me know and I apologize for the inconvenience. I can understand your frustration. We're able to catch a lot of those kinds of things on those annual check-ups but unfortunately, sometimes an a/c can break down without any warning.
Something didn't sound right to me so I took a closer look at that situation and realized that your system is still covered by the manufacturers' limited parts warranty. You should not have been billed for as the amount that you were. So I'm going to send you a check for the difference on Monday.
