We used Rug Renovating to clean our white couch. They came highly recommended by the designer who helped us pick it out, so we paid a premium price of just under nine hundred dollars to clean it. The two guys who came were nice guys who seemed competent. I watched them do it. They took the couch cushions off and started using their chemicals, which immediately bled onto the couch. They said it wouldn't show when it was dry, and they did a bunch more treatments to it. It continued to bleed. Now that it's dry, I can see water stains all the way through our one-year-old couch. They are right on the base, where the fabric wraps around. Basically, we paid for them to ruin a brand-new couch. I could have hired Stanley Steamer and paid two hundred dollars for the same treatment. The guys from Rug Renovating told me it would take two days to dry and asked me for a sheet to put the couch on while it dried. Then they put the couch in the piano room on it's ends. It actually took four days to dry and continued to leak chemicals out onto the sheet throughout. Fortunately, we didn't try to rush to clean it before Thanksgiving but decided to do it well in advance of Christmas instead. It's ninety percent perfect, but at that price it should be one hundred percent perfect. They were nice guys and I even tipped them. That's why they get any stars at all. The chemicals wrecked the underlayment of the couch. In retrospect, they weren't the most proficient cleaners. I would think that they would at least test the chemicals first before using them all over. I would not recommend Rug Renovating.
