While the plumber who came to our home was very nice and pleasant, the work that was done was not done correctly and we paid way too much for it. We had a flange problem. It was making noise and the toilet ran on occasion by itself. The plumber spent quite awhile fixing it and told us he replaced all the inside parts plus the toilet handle. He also told us the shut off valve to our toilet was not working so he replaced that with our permission. He broke the toilet seat while working and replaced it at no cost. Unfortunately, while walking my dog during his visit, he was in his truck getting parts, and I overheard him lamenting his job. It was clear he was not happy although we were treated respectfully throughout the time he was in our home. We paid, he left and the toilet began running all the time - constantly. So, we called him back the next and he came that day - again very pleasant. He said he had tried to fix the issue but that our toilet was broken, we would need a new one, told us what kind to get and what he would charge to put it in. While he did not charge us for that service call, we are now looking at about $1k in plumbing bills for a flange issue. I called another plumber who came out a few days later. He immediately told me the toilet was leaking, that what was done was not working because of how it was installed. It took him about 15 minutes, 1/4th of the amount we originally paid the first plumber, and we have had no issues since. We have found our plumber but it is not with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.
