One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating is a difficult company to read with their service. This was not my first time using them. I purchased this house two years ago and the seller had One Hour install the air conditioner and heat pump and it came with the service plan so I maintained that. I pay $19 a month for them to service the unit four times a year. That averages to about $228 per year for the maintenance. If they fix something during the routine maintenance it is all good. However, if they come back the very next day it is a $99 service call plus parts and labor to fix anything. That in itself would not be an issue if it were not for the incompetence of some of the technicians. Let me explain. The first technician that came out did not know what a heat pump was nor was he aware that I had one (and it was their company that installed it). After I told him that it was in the attic (he had been looking only at the air conditioner in the side yard) he did not have the proper equipment with him to get into the attic so he used my ladder to get up there. Afterward, he even had the nerve to sit down and watch television instead of finishing his work and leaving. The second time I had the annual service I told the tech there was a leak in the heat pump. The tech who came out for this service call was inept. I told him there was a problem with the heat pump and he marked down on the receipt summary that he fixed a water leak in the heat pump. He wrote inline valve leaking and fixed. I had to call them back 2 days later because it was still leaking. What happens is that the water tray beneath the water pump /heat pump. Once that fills up it trips the air conditioner to stop working. The third technician who came out was the only one who was knowledgeable and did his job properly. He took one look at the heat pump and advised me what I already knew. The valve and leak were not fixed as stated on the receipt. He went to the hardware store and purchased the parts to fix it. He stayed late to make sure everything was in working order. I don't recall his name but this third tech is the only tech who is an asset to their company. Now with the difficulties, I have had with them they now tell me to call a plumber to fix the heat pump yet they were the ones to install it, and it is still under their warranty since they did both the air conditioner and heat pump. With two inept workers and one good technician, I am at a point now that I want to cancel the annual maintenance contract and go elsewhere with a team that has more knowledgeable technicians. I wish I could remember the name of the technician who was good so I would advise any of you out here if you are going to call One Hour Air Conditioning and Heating then make sure you ask for the experienced technician so you can avoid the problems I had with them.
