My mother has been at MorningStar Assisted Living and Memory Care for a little more than a year now and it's been wonderful for the most part. The nursing staff is wonderful and for the most part everyone has been very watchful over her. It's nice that they keep an eye on her, and she appreciates that. There have been a couple of glitches though. It's wonderful to have structured monthly calendar of events, for example, but my mom can get frustrated sometimes when she's the only one who shows up to the events. That may be a problem with other places too, I'm not really sure, but she gets quite frustrated by that and also by staff turnover. The good ones seem to be leaving and that's frustrating. In terms of her overall care, they really look out for her, but there's always some mix up in her schedule throughout the week. Then they are supposed to do her laundry but don't get to it until the next day, or that sort of thing, she gets frustrated as well.

I still think they are working out some kinks and I'm hoping they will be able to work them out, with regards to consistency and staffing. I've talked to many residents who have been there since beginning, though, and they love it there. My mom would never move. She's happy there and that's huge. It's a beautiful facility, and clean, which counts for a lot.
