This review concerns my parents house in Vernon Hills.
Job: Install owner provided kitchen faucet with two new compression valves, Rod out kitchen drain and install company provided basket strainer ( $7 part at Home Depot. Total Time to do the job 1 1/2 hours.
I was there throughout the job so I know what was done and how long it took/ I have no complaints about the quality of the work or the professionalism of the plumber.
My problem is the cost. $700 for the above described work. That is with the senior discount, otherwise it would have been $800. This cost is so far from reality that it boggles the mind.
I voiced , through email, my shock at the cost and was told that they don't charge by the hour, they charge by the task. This means every little thing they do is a seperate task/charge.
I am a union ironworker and I've never heard of such a thing. It doesn't matter how many different things I do in an hour, the charge is still $140 an hour.
I had Little Tommy's put two new kitchen valves in my son's house. 1 hour to put in owner supplied valves and the cost was $300 so another 1/2 at my parents hpuse was worth $400?( with $100 discount)
Anyone out there find this cost reasonable? I will never call Little Tommy's again for my plumbing needs because the cost is way to high for the job.
