I have hunted with long guns for my entire life. I have never had a need or desire to shoot a pistol because when I did, I was terrible. This class provided a complete review of safe handling, care and procedure to shoot a handgun correctly. Day one, taught by Jen, was a fantastic overview of gun basics which helped to build familiarity and a process of safe handling. The range shooting that followed proved what I already knew which is I am terrible with a handgun! The following four hours of patient coaching and correction by Bo slowly removed my ignorance and ingrained bad habits. It was astonishing! When you listened and applied their techniques your groups improved. By the end of day two, I was confident and excited about shooting pistols and didn't want to leave the range. The last segment of training, taught by Ted, an expert teacher, was focused on the responsibility of personal protection and related laws within the state of California. This course, the instructors and the amazing facility were perfect! They taught as if we were family. The instruction, though designed for a large group, was was extraordinarily personal. The instructors quickly recognized my personal weakness(s) and worked continuously until I improved. I will recommend Northern Firearms Instruction to everyone I know who is interested in firearm safety or CCW. Just a fantastic group of people who know how to safely teach the love of shooting and personal protection.
