Did not diagnose correctly

The technician told us he thought it might be the control board. After he left the fan stayed on again and we could see on the control board the amber light blinking 4 times which according to the diagnosis codes it indicated a dirty filter, blower fan needed cleaning, etc. We replaced the filter, vacuumed the lower part of the furnace where the control board was located, vacuumed as much of the lower fan that we could and since doing this we have had no problems with the furance

Thank you for your feedback Larry. Intermittent failures can be very difficult to diagnose. You indicated the inducer motor did not shut off without turning off the power to the furnace. As the furnace operated properly when the technician was at your home he was giving you his educated opinion. I do hope that your cleaning took care of the problem and that it will not continue intermittently as it did before.
