K9 University Chicago is a great place for their doggie day care if you want to socialize your dogs and let them play while you are at work. However, if your work schedule runs late and you need to pick them up after hours or if you need to do boarding for them and will pick them up after hours think twice. We boarded our Pugs and while we were gone we got no updates on them nor does K9 University offer video services so you can see your pets while you are gone. When we went to pick them up it was a disaster. Our flight was late but we weren’t worried because they said they are available with their after hour service 24-7. We got there and called and called, knocked and knocked with no answers. Another client arrived, and she had a key. A client with a key? Apparently after talking with her she told us she had so many problems picking up her pets after hours that she had been given a key. After yelling and trying to find the worker once we got insie we finally saw a glimpse of someone and shouted between plexiglass that we were here to pick up our Pugs. The head disappeared then our pugs were shoved into the room through the Plexiglass. Thank goodness it was our two Pugs as the person had disappeared again so we couldn’t ask how they did or ask anything of their visit. If we had not shown up when we did (when the other client was there with a spare key) how would we have been able to get our dogs? I would not use K9 University Chicago for boarding ever again. I do like their day care socialization and we still take our Pugs there for that. What would I tell potential customers? Only use the daycare services, look elsewhere for boarding. I will only use K9 University Chicago for their day care services.
