Our AC stopped working. Golden Rule responded promptly to our call for help ... a good thing. The young lady service-person was the same tech that checked out our system earlier this year saying everything was fine. I know things can go wrong over time, but I was hoping we were not looking at a whole new system. Thankfully, our problem was not major. However, it took nearly two hours for the problem to be analyzed and fixed. It was listed on the service tab as an "easy wire fix." Two hours for an "easy wire fix"? And the "fix" cost us over $200! I'm very grateful that it wasn't a "difficult wire fix" or something major. I've had problems twice previously with service costing much more than what other companies would charge. On the last service call and repair, I called another company, gave them the specs on the equipment that was replaced, etc., and the other company quoted me a price that was just over a third of the amount that Golden Rule charged me. I expressed concern and was given a credit on my account as a partial refund, but the amount I was charged was still over twice what the other company quoted. I go back to Golden Rule because we bought into the Gold Club program. I'm not sure that we'll continue with Golden Rule because of the their charges. Golden Rule, I think, does a good job with their work. They are prompt and courteous. Goodness sakes, the young woman who came to our house was a lovely person ... congenial and seemed to know her stuff. All of that is good, but I am more than concerned about the cost of GR's services. We'll see what happens.
