What I thought and what I got were two totally different situations.

I rented an RV through S&H Campground on June 12th, 2017, for the following Memorial Day Weekend (May 24th through May 28th, 2018). Just under a year in advance…Paid my deposit to reserve the rental and the remaining balance well before it was due. The owner (Jay Hine) called the night before pickup with concern the unit would not be available in time for my pickup, he was looking for option B. Jay then, called the morning of my pickup to cancel, saying he was not able to find an option B. With all this, he said he would give a refund for the rental unit; even though my Memorial Day Weekend plans were already booked, campsite was paid for, food was bought, friends coming in from out of town, etc... Unfortunately, I had to call a well over a dozen times trying to get a refund from him. He was always very vague and would have to “get back with me”. Very few times did he call me back. Finally, he stated, a check was mailed, trick was on me though, no check ever arrived. After approximately of 4 months of calling him and asking for the status of my refund. Jay overnighted a check to the wrong address. Unfortunately, instead of contacting me to verify an address, I had to continue to contact Jay and he finally agreed to overnight the check again after I sent him my mailing address again.

I completely understand situations happen and sometimes plans do not work out as planned but for S&H Campground to withhold my refund and have me go months without just refunding me. Jay Hines did not communicate well at all and was rather difficult to get any useful information from.

I will let you make your own conclusions about Jay Hine and S&H Campground but I do not understand Jay’s business plan. If he did not have the money to refund to me, just be honest and I would have been more than happy to put him on a payment program to refund me. Unfortunately for Jay, he lost a customer.

Would I recommend to a friend? No, I would recommend going to Mount Comfort RV.
