On September 25. 2017 I calledP.K. Wadsworth cause our air conditioner stopped running. I indicated that the capacitor probably needed to be replaced. The capacitor is a part that cost between $10 and $20 depending on whether one buys it on the internet or a HVAC parts supply store. They indicated it would be $90 for to come out and diagnose the problem plus the cost of the repair. They came out. It took the repairman 15 minuted to travel from his last call. I know he called me from his last call and he told me he was leaving. When he arrived he went out to the air conditioner, diagnosed it and told me the capacitor needed to be replaced. It was under warrenty, but the labor cost to replace it was $195. Itthe total time to diagnose the problem and replace the capacitor was 12 minutes. The total cost was $285. for a total of about 1/2 hour travel and work. I am a senior citizen on Fixed Income. I felt like I was $@!#% by Paul K. Wadsworth and his company. Shame on them.
I do live in a homeowners association and I have recommended them to be on our preferred vendor list for the replacement of Heating and Air Conditioning Systems. However, since they are too way out of line in their pricing for simple repairs, I can no longer recommend them for anything. I will also recommend that P.K. Wadsworth be removed from our Preferred Vendors List.
