A/C making loud ‘turbine’ sound

For last several days the A/C was making a loud, intermittent ‘turbine’ sound (whistling sound but louder). Finally got concerned and called SWHVAC. In spite of s busy late summer schedule, they had two technicians out in a matter of hours.

Simple problem. Air filter I had installed in May was pretty much stopped up in September. Previous filter had gone a whole year without problems. $69 for visit (with service plan) and $69 for filter. Will have to see how long this filter lasts.

Previous unit had a permanent filter that we flushed out ever month or could use standard commercial filters.
