Not A Good Experience

I had an annual maintenance contract with M&K Heating and Cooling Services. When they came out, my unit was making a loud banging noise when it stopped running. The technician said that the motor was going out, and he charged me $325.00 for a new motor plus an additional charge for labor. and If I hadn't had the annual agreement, the motor would have cost $500.00.

I did some checking and I found the exact same motor on Amazon for $75.00. I called M&K Heating and Cooling Services, and told them what I had found. I gave them an opportunity to lower the bill and keep my business but they chose to keep the money instead.

My heater still makes that banging sound when it stops, even after they installed the overpriced motor. I would rate this company a negative five if I could, and I would not use them again.

We are sorry you were not happy with our service. We warrant our labor for repairs for 90 days and had you called and said you were still experiencing a noise, we would have been happy to come back out and look at your equipment again at no additional cost to you. The breakdown of the cost of the motor was $125 for labor and $212.53 for materials (motor and capacitor) for a total of $337.53. Unfortunately, Amazon's pricing does not take into account the cost of doing business such as business licenses (State, County, City - Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City and unlike a brick and mortar business, we are required to maintain business licenses in each city that we perform work in), State Contractors License, insurance (General liability, auto, worker's comp), vehicle costs, labor costs (salary, payroll taxes), credit card processing fees, etc.
