When I hired SML - Simple Moving Labor, I was very happy with the quoted hourly price for three men. I needed my furniture and boxes moved from a fifteen-by-ten-foot storage unit into a truck for transport. I had arranged for a transport driver separately. It had originally taken about two hours to get everything into the storage unit so I was unprepared for the job to take three men all day long. My bill ended up being double what I was expecting. I've moved a lot and used a lot of different movers and I got the distinct impression that these guys from SML were moving at a deliberately slow pace to drag out the time. For comparison, I had two guys on the other end who were able to unload the same truck in two and a half hours. The other thing that made me unhappy was that the supervisor was unable to give me a copy of my receipt on the spot. She further hinted that tips for the men would be appreciated, but I was all out of cash after the larger than expected bill, so I ended up using my credit card. I won't have the opportunity to use SML - Simple Moving Labor again, but if I did, I wouldn't hire them.
