AAA Service Plumbing, Heating & Electrical

So many disappointments. Should have cancelled long before I did

We were members of their monthly program for several years. Over the course of those years there were several times I should have cancelled our membership. The biggest disappointment occurred when an outside water line broke and flooded our basement the night before a vacation. Our emergency services provider coordinated work with AAA to repair the plumbing while we were out of the state. We received a call from the sheriff one evening that our neighbors had called the police to investigate our home. Our neighbors knew we were out of town and were concerned when they came home and saw our front door standing wide open, with the key hanging out of the lock. The sheriff inspected the home and found no one inside and nothing noticeably out of the ordinary. Upon our investigation with our emergency services provider the AAA plumber had been there that day and was supposed to lock up when finished and put the key in the lock box. He clearly did not. Upon returning home I called AAA multiple times and left several messages for the owner to call me back expressing my concerns over their service. I never received a call back. I should have cancelled then and there but for some reason I continued to pay them monthly. I thought this would end up working out in our favor when our furnace went out on Christmas Eve. We called AAA and were told to call someone else. Yes, I understand it was Christmas Eve. We had two children under the age of 2 and it was a very cold night. If we could not rely on AAA in an emergency on a holiday, then what was the point of paying them monthly to be on call? So we called someone else. Doctor Fix It came out right away, fixed our furnace and we found out they also have a monthly membership, at less cost. There were other issues that were disappointing with AAA. The techs they sent out to service the furnace were rarely the same tech (only once did we get the same guy) so we never had a consistent story. The only thing consistent was that our furnace went out a lot, and AAA replaced almost every single part without ever addressing the root cause of the problem (we always got a different story for what that root cause was). I thought the monthly membership would be easy and convenient, and a money-saver. I think it actually just made us complacent about making sure we were getting a good deal with good service. I would not recommend AAA Plumbing, Heating and Electrical
