Water Heater issues are never fun, inexpensive or planned. I was very impressed at the prompt consideration to my call for assistance on a Sunday. Your Plumbing technician was courteous and professional in assessing the issue, a faulty gas valve. He was able to give me options to repair but the water heater was out of warranty and could not guarantee the amount time it would extend the life of the water heater. I opted for the replacement option and he was able to schedule for the next day. Very competent and knowledgeable bringing my 1950's house into current code compliance. The Denver Mechanical Inspector was out yesterday and passed with flying colors!
