I took my car to AAMCO Transmissions in Euless to have them do a checkup on the transmission. They told me it was going to cost from $600 to $700 just for the diagnostic. I thought that was really expensive and didn't have the money. They had me sign a title loan paper so they would get paid. Then, they took the transmission apart and without even consulting me first, went ahead and fixed it. Then handed me a bill for $2600+. I was shocked! It went from $700 to $2600+ with no communication in between. If they had told me it was going to cost that much to fix the car, I would have said forget it. The car isn't even worth that much. Instead, I had to sign over my whole paycheck, and still owe them money. The title loan increases every month, so the cost of fixing my car just keeps going up and up. I just feel like I was railroaded into getting the repairs done on my car without even discussing it with me first. What could I do after they had already done the repairs. I couldn't say no then.
