Past experience with Reliance has been good,
but when they screw up they Really screw up.

Ended up stuck at home
unable to go anywhere
or do anything elsewhere
all day
while expecting a technician,
when I could have been at work
or run errands
with lots to do away from home.

Took the day off from work for major plumbing repair
expected to require several hours
advised dispatch needed concrete broken
tech should be prepared for that
asked for Donny *if available*
because he was familiar with the problem
given 10-12 appointment window
voicemail received ~ 11:30 "slightly delayed"
called ~ 1 saying send someone/ANYONE *SOON*
called ~ 2, promised someone by 4
called ~ 4, promised someone by 4:30

I get it, Donny was scheduled but got stuck
I get it, all techs were busy
but not finding someone else to fill in
with a morning appointment
arriving early enough in the day to do the work
and willing to do the requested work
would have been good

treating my time as worthless was the last straw

Julio showed up ~ 5:45
implied he did not have tools for concrete
wanted to charge again for pipe tracing
which was already done last time
but apparently needed to be done again
since done by someone else
suggested this approach might not solve the problem
which I understood but wanted to proceed anyway
said he couldn't really start on anything today
apparently due to late hour
asked for alternatives
estimated ~ $4K to install ~ 50' of entirely new pipe
with a token discount for having waited so long
which is useful to know
but seemed ridiculously expensive
and utterly ignored that I wanted to try to fix
the problem via broken concrete
but that work would only be
measured in Hundreds of dollars
and might accomplish nothing
but my wish to have it done (and pay for it) anyway
had no impact
late in the day
someone will come tomorrow
NO
already waited all day
for nothing
will find someone else

Cost me an ENTIRE DAY and accomplished NOTHING.

Loss of my time seemed unimportant
is not fixed by a token discount
not even trying to do the work I asked
even fully acknowledging it may accomplish nothing
though willing to pay for it
just not willing to take another day off work
offered only an order of magnitude higher price solution.
