My Mom hired Chicago Gutterglove to install a Sunsetter awning on her house so she could enjoy the sunsets in comfort. Unfortunately, she experienced frustration throughout the process and it was a source of great anxiety for my nearly 80-year-old Mom. The awning itself was fine, but the installation went downhill from the beginning. It was installed on the wrong part of her house entirely. It was also mounted on top of the roof instead of from the soffits as she had specified. That resulted in drilling holes for brackets on her roof, possibly comprising the integrity of the roof. It also meant that the sunsets she wanted to enjoy were still unshielded. The customer service department was unresponsive to her calls and she finally stopped payment on the installation. Chicago Gutterglove eventually agreed to forgive the cost of installation and charged her only for the awning but the awning is still in the wrong place. She remains worried about how the whole thing will fare during the winter.
