Chem-Dry by the Millers

Happy with comments!! June 10, 2015

As a first time, brand new customer of ChemDry by the Millers here's what I offer.
Coming from a very skeptical perspective, I contracted to have a team clean the carpet in my 2012 home that I just bought. I went into the situation knowing that it would be at least twice as much as a full service "steam" job; $300 vs $575. However, I wanted top quality without carpets being wet for days and the problem returning within weeks.

I was impressed by the fact that they were willing to return after the carpet dried and did return (no questions asked) to complete the job to our satisfaction.

The two guys were exxtremely professional, were wearing the company uniform, listened to what my wife and I had to offer and only performed the "extensive" services we requested. Sidebar: They should probably consider wearing shoe covers while they're in the customers home!!

Having forgotten the various methods used by ChemDry, I neglected to specificly request the CTS or HCE methods in the beginning.

Let me say they used the "Legacy" system which is the original method by ChemDry. This method is more effective than hot water extraction however, not as good as the HCE or as awesome as the CTS.

BLUF: The Legacy system is not good for carpets that have been neglected and trampled by shoes ( like mine). This system uses a buffer with various cloth "mop" type heads to wick and absorb the minimal amount of solution from the carpet with pressure from the buffer. The problem I have with this is that it does not provide suction type extraction, however, sort of just moves a little of the grime around and IMO presses it farther into the carpet and pad. This is a bad idea and method, period. The better method is hot carbonation extraction (HCE), similar to hot water extraction except 10X less water and about a 3-4 hour dry time. IMO the carbonated truck mounted system is the best because the chemicals, noise and most of the equipment stays on the truck. Only the buffer with the ChemDry specialized cleaning extraction head comes into your home. As I see it the newest version the XTS, puts the power on top of the buffer thus creating greater suction closer to the buffer however, most equipment remains on the truck.
Hands down, I'm staying with ChemDry by the Millers; minimal dry time, no harmful chemicals, professional staff, customer focused, no funky or cover-up odors remain.
Need I say more!!!!!!!
