I had Gretchen come for a consultation August 2025. Paid the $225 consultation fee after approximately 30 minutes of consulting with Gretchen. $3000 was the total quoted after fabric chosen. I had a pair of custom valances for 2 living room windows that no longer fitted in the windows since new windows had been installed but Gretchen suggested could be reinstalled by her installer. I went with that suggestion although 2 quotes were given for the reinstallion??!! During the consultation I ask for a breakdown of the total $3000. Gretchen’s reply “I don’t give that. I only give the final cost”. Wow! Interesting. So I said that’s unusual. We wrapped up the consultation deciding that the reinstallion of my valances would be done and Gretchen would check availability of fabric and also 2 other fabric options she would explore. About a week later Gretchen called stating the install of my valances could be done. The cost of $450 was the charge and she wanted payment during the call. I stated I preferred to pay at the time of the install. Gretchen then states “I don’t think U R a good fit for my service”!! Really! Why? She repeated “I don’t think U R a good fit for my service”!! I ask again “Why”? Is it because I ask too many questions? Is it because I’m black? Do U think I don’t have $3000? Her reply “when do U want the installer to come and have the $450”. The installer came and did a great job. I later contacted Gretchen asking for my $225 back since it was to go towards a purchase which she has refused me. It’s December 2025, months after her service refusal and my refund request. No reply and no refund. What’s up with Gretchen? Not the way to run a business🤔!! To be continued
