I needed to have some mold removed from my attic as part of my homes sale agreement. I called two other contractors besides Summit. Service Masters didn't seem to want my business or be bothered with a call out for an estimate. I was told by one person over the phone that it would be $900 minimum. My damage was minimal according to my house inspection, so I called Servpro. Servpro was quick to come out, but there was a $150 estimate fee. Summit also had a fee so I figured this was normal for the industry. The Servpro estimator asked me if I had been up in the attic and if I knew where the damage was. I thought this was a strange question since he had to look for himself anyway to do his job. After he came down from the attic, he informed me that my whole attic was covered in mold on the roof sheathing and would get back to me with an estimate. I felt the estimator wasn't being honest and only had his interest in mind. Servpros estimate was over $2700! I decided I better pay the $135 to Summit and get another opinion. Summit was out with two technicians and after their inspection, Justin said I had about 170 sq ft. of damage. So much for Servpro's estimate! 170 sq.ft. sounded like what my home inspector was finding. I had Summit come out to do the job and they were very thorough. They included before and after pictures and a report of the repair. The repair actually came out to be $499 we'll under the estimate of $770.
