Craig Van Lines recently moved my entire home from Virginia to New Jersey. The owner came out to my home to give me a quote and assured me that everything would be handled appropriately. I was told that they would completely wrap the draws with plastic so no one would be able to see my personal belongings inside. I would not have to remove things. I was told everything would be covered so there would be no scratches and such. When the movers showed up at my home in Virginia they did not wrap anything. I began to put cases of water in my car to take on the trip and one of the movers stopped me and said he would take them on the truck for me. I never saw the cases of water again! In any case, the truck arrived in New Jersey a day late. No one called or communicated with me that they would be delayed. As I said, not one single piece of furniture was wrapped. All of my drawers had been gone through and items were either lost or stolen out of them. Everything had scratches, gouges, and pieces broken off. They slammed the furniture into the walls leaving grooves and marks everywhere and cracked the banister. The beautiful marble top on my dresser was completely cracked. My twelve hundred dollar computer was stolen. I never saw that again! I have spent weeks trying to use markers to fill in the grooves and scratches. there is white paint all over things from scraping the walls. I called Craig Van Lines and cannot believe that no one has gotten back to me at all. I went to their website and left a message through there and no one will answer it. On the day they delivered it we asked the driver for a form or some sort of formal paperwork so we could put in a claim for the damages and theft. He did not have anything with him. I am so disgusted! There are handprints and sweat marks all over everything. It is a horror! It would have been nice to have a little respect for me that they would at least call and apologize. I spent six thousand dollars and this is what I get! I will never use them again and certainly would never recommend them to anyone. What I do not understand is that I had used Craig Van Lines once before which is why I called them again this time for my long-distance move. I had no problems whatsoever until this move. I do not understand how they can get away with this.
