Paraco bought the propane company I had previously held an account with. My first experience was learning they automatically took over my account, surcharging lease terms for tanks that were previously part of my contract with my previous supplier. That also included a $90 charge for 10 gallons that showed up unrequested They just decided to do an auto delivery, and oh yah-there's a $10 hazardous material fee. When I went to sell that residence I was instructed to call them ,report the gauge reading and they would provide the corresponding gas level left, and hence the dollar amt involved-Wrong, day of closing upon calling them they inform me the need to send somebody to do the reading, when I hit the roof they did rectify that and accept a picture of the gauge and sent my lawyer a letter attesting to the gas amt. left in the tanks. Of course the buyer balked at the obscene price per gallon listed and when we called paraco back to request a current price per gallon available to verify the amounts in the closing letter you would have thought we were speaking in tongues, trying to pin them down on what they were charging (what's the gas being used for , business or residence, current customer or new customer, etc.,etc.,etc.) and that was after waiting 20 min in voice mail roulette and customer service purgatory . The new buyer was looking at us and asking why do you have an account with this outfit, I really didn't have an acceptable response given all my past consumer history with them. Needless to say my buyer probably won't be renewing that lease arrangement. And I wouldn't blame them.
