We went into Dave's Economy Auto Center to trade in our old car for a different vehicle. It had been a very noisy, and rainy day so when I heard a soft tick on the car we were looking to purchase I did not make too much of it. The salesman did say that the noise would go away and the car would be okay. The people that helped us had all been very nice. There was a sign and confirmation by the man we purchased with, that these cars were uncertified and sold as is. I just wish I had asked more questions and pushed a little harder, because it ended up being a very expensive purchase. We drove the car off the lot another 600 and it began making an additional noise. We ended up having to take it to the shop and it has been there ever since. We have to replace the engine as well as some other parts that the shop has since called us about. We traded in a car with similar mileage and age, in good running order, with an extended policy, plus $6,000 and spent about $12,000 in all on a car that was a year older with just about the same mileage. It has been a true lesson learned. I would NEVER buy another uncertified car again.
