Flooring Superstores Edmonton North

Unacceptable

I've dealt with this store for well over 12 years now. I've never even thought about shopping elsewhere. Their in-store service is always exceptional and top notch, and their installation is usually just as good. However, the most recent installation was a nightmare.
It was a two day project. First, the guy spent twenty minutes explaining to me how good he is and how great his work is, which was the first red flag, and his work only confirmed my suspicions. We hired him to do lamination. He missed some of the rooms we hired him to do and did some rooms we didn't want him to.
We have marble floor tiles in all three bathrooms, and as he was ripping out the old laminate in the main floor bathroom, his crowbar jammed under two tiles and he ripped them right out. If he were honest and said that he messed up and was sorry, I wouldn't have had a problem. Instead, he insisted that the tiles were already loose. My wife has a terminal brain disease. I have to escort her to that bathroom on her walker every time she has to use it. Believe me, I would have known if those tiles were loose. They were not loose. It was a brand new marble floor, and he ruined it. When he put the tiles back, he didn't put grout in, and it looks awful.
When he did the closet, which was one of the rooms we didn't hire him to do, he tore out all of the shoes and clothes and everything and dumped it all into the adjacent bathroom, and left it all there, so we couldn't use that bathroom. He also tore off the doors for that closet, saying that they wouldn't fit now that the floor was laminated, but that floor was already laminated, so that doesn't make any sense. Now we have two closet doors leaning again a wall that we have to hire someone to reinstall.
He started in the living room, which is right at the back door, and worked his way in. He stepped on the laminate with his shoes on the entire time he put it down, tracking it everywhere and ruining the floor. In general, he left a heck of a mess, and we had to clean up all of it. It was the sloppiest work I had ever seen. Completely unacceptable. We still have a case and a half of laminate left over from all the rooms he didn't do.
My foster and biological son and I spent all morning moving all of the furniture out of the places we expected him to work. He moved around a china cabinet and charged us $200 for moving furniture. I told him that if I knew he was going to charge us for that anyways, we wouldn't have bothered to move anything. He offered to take $15 off that $200 charge. He could tell how upset I was and he didn't care.
On the second day, he brought his kids, I assume to save money on daycare.
I'm not blaming the store. I would love to be able to keep hiring their services, but I can't in good conscious give them a positive review right now.
In the end, the job cost $5,500. $3,000 of that was just labor. It's going to cost us $2,000 just to undo the damage this man has done to our home.
My wife is extremely ill. She needs full time care, and I had to leave my career in order to provide that for her.
I can not afford this.
