Arizona Restoration Specialists

Overall pleasant experience, but could do better communicating details

This was my first experience with Arizona Restoration Specialists, and they did a good job, and the customer service was fine. I called them last minute on a Friday - after I had already been misled by another company - and they came really quick. They were all very polite, and they gave me a much more reasonable quote than the first company I worked with, but there were some details about the job that I wish they would have shared with me first. It would have likely changed the outcome of how I moved forward with the restoration and remedy, and it could have saved me some money.

I was out of town, and my garage flooded from groundwater. In Arizona, this type of flooding is not covered by insurance unless you specifically purchase it separately. Furthermore, asbestos testing is required prior to any flood restoration or remedy, no matter what company you decide to use. Long story short, the first company gave me a huge runaround about insurance versus cash quotes, and after having the asbestos testing done, I decided not to move forward with them.

This is when Arizona Restoration Specialists came in. I gave them a copy of the asbestos testing report, and I had them start on the project. There were about three feet of drywall that had to be removed, and the wall that was behind the flood-damaged drywall was a concrete block wall. If I had known this, I would have likely removed the drywall myself. I was worried about insulation, wood beams, and any other material behind there that could be damaged, but that was not the case, and I just wish they would have told me it was a concrete wall.
