My experience with Mac's Auto Service II on this particular episode was a 2.
I brought the car in on December 15th for a NY state inspection and a routine maintenance. The maintenance work was not completed until noon the next day and when I picked up the car, the inspection had not been done but they didn't tell me that, I only noticed when I didn't see the new inspection sticker on the plate.
That weekend I drove to Albany and the check engine light came on, so I brought he car car back and they left it all day on the 19th and then I returned on the 20th and they said that the spark plug that they installed was defective and that the inspection could not be done.
So, I returned on December 29 to have the inspection after they told me to so and when I showed up they told me they ran out of inspection stickers for 2016 and that I now needed to scheduled to return in 2017. I'm going back in about 45 min hopefully to get the inspections ticker and finally finish the work.
So, my issue is that if they had done the inspection on the very first day that would have been done right away. If they would have said that they couldn't do the inspection instead of having to chase the information, that would have been much better.
I have been a customer for 10 years and nothing like this has every happened before and I understand that if the light was defective, that wasn't their fault but taking 4 trips was too much and I think things could have been handled much more graciously and efficiently.
I expect that I will go back but I am unhappy about the sequence of events with the inspection. This whole adventure has stretched out over a longer period of time than I expected.
