MOTRONIX

I'd Have to Give Them a Thumbs Up

Motronix is a good auto shop. I have a BMW 325i that I bought back in 2005. I've been a little disappointed with it because it had has a lot of issues, which I wouldn't expect from a BMW. Motronix has been tuning the car up for years and they have done several bigger jobs as well. They took care of my starter. They replaced the battery. I had a problem with a cap for the radiator that goes into the manifold. It cracked and then it started to leak onto the electric fan motor, which cost me a lot of money. That's just bad design, why would you put that cap right above an electric fan where any liquid that leaks out will spill onto it. I used to be a professional mechanic and built racing engines in the late 1970s. I was never a certified mechanic but I know a lot about this kind of thing. I have no idea why BMW put an electrical fan right underneath the radiator cap. So I had to replace that, then the valve cover gasket was another problem. The gasket was defective and I had to spend a lot of money replacing that. Now about 4 years later the gasket started leaking again, and this is a car I don't use a lot so it doesn't get a lot of wear and tear. My wife uses it for about 10 minutes at a time to commute to work and back which is about five miles away. It only has about 60,000 miles on it. All of a sudden the valve cover gasket is corroded. I don't even know how that could have happened. It's not their fault over at the shop, BMW needs to get it together. I was very surprised to find that they have so many defects in their design.

As far as the shop goes, though, its great. I've taken my car to them frequently and they've been very sincere and honest. A couple of times they checked the car out for free. They will pick my wife up and drop her off. They're good. They do a good clean job, and I pay attention to the little details of that kind of work. It's not cheap, but it's worth if for the quality and it is a little less expensive than the dealer. They've helped me out a lot and they always try to do their best. They're very knowledgeable with the cars that they work on. They only work on Mercedes, BMWs and Audis. They don't work on any other kind of cars and you can see by the way they handle the situation that they know what they're doing. I'd have to give them a thumbs up.I'd
