After calling around to make comparisons in companies we wound up going with ACC Medlink over everyone else. We based our decision on criteria with two main things that we insisted on a company to offer. The first thing that was most important to us was that a medical professional would be with our relative all times. The second most important requirement that we had was that a company would allow our nephew to ride along with them. Our back story is that my husband's uncle John was eighty-six years old and very frail. We wanted to move him from Chapel Hill, North Carolina to an assisted living facility here in Ohio. That way he would be much closer to my husband and me so we could monitor his care. We felt that Dave, our nephew, should ride along for the entire trip up here because uncle John tends to have anxiety while traveling. We figured that Dave could calm him down. The day came and they sent out a nurse named Jane and a driver named Russ. They were amazing! They were both so professional and handled everything with such great care. They let our nephew travel along and allowed him to talk to John all throughout the trip. Everything was handled superbly. Jane kept uncle John fully hydrated and medically stable. When they arrived from their journey they met us out at the Magnolia Spring facility. Jane the nurse was able to get medical records from them that the staff had refused to give to us directly. So, she was able to give us some insight into things that we were not aware of like a catheter that had not been changed out for over two months prior to him coming here. We were astonished. In any case, Jane was extremely pro-active and took the time to talk directly to the medical staff at Magnolia Spring and set them straight on what needed to happen for uncle John's proper care. As for Russ and Jane, honestly, they were a lifesaver. We cannot say enough about the good care that they gave to our uncle and we are so grateful for having them work with us. We highly recommend ACC Medlink to other families out there in need of transporting their loved one. Kudos to them!
