Standard has gone downhill
I went back to Standard for two more needed appliances. Bill was our salesperson. He was rude, uninformed and got a bit hostile when I showed him reviews that conflicted with information he stated on a product. It was unpleasant and unnecessary to deal with his drama, as we came in for guidance and expertise . He was factually wrong on several issues and we lost trust in his honest intention to sell us a good quality product rather than just selling us something. The silver lining is I was motivated to explore other appliance stores in Portland. I found BASCO, a longtime appliance store in NW Portland. The inventory was wonderful and the attention and expertise was better. NO DELIVERY CHARGES EITHER!! They take the old appliances away as well. We got two needed appliances here. Farewell to Standard! It does not deserve one's hard earned dollars when they care about a sale and not the concerns of the consumer!
