Utter Incompetence and Poor Customer Service

I have never experienced a greater magnitude of total incompetence and poor customer service in my life. I bought a washer and dryer from Standard TV and Appliance in November. The negligent and incompetent salesperson, Jake Thomson first gave me the wrong cord for the dryer, even though I showed him a picture of the outlet. I also told him that the valve on the washer looked damaged. He told me to try it and that it should be just fine. I hooked up the washer and turned on the hot water and it sprayed everywhere. I called and told them that I was dissatisfied and they needed to send someone out to fix it. I figured in the meantime, I could at least run a load of laundry with just cold water. Halfway through the cycle the machine shut off while it was still full of water. I ended up in the laundromat that night finishing the load of wet clothes. I called them and told them they needed to exchange the washer because by this point I had no confidence. They said they would get back to me. The day after Thanksgiving, their technician knocked on our door at 8:30am, with no notice whatsoever. He was able to fix the multiple issues with the washer. A month and a half went by and now the dryer dies. I called them and told them about the issue, the woman I spoke to at first was blatantly rude to me on the phone, so I asked for her manager. The manager gave me the same string of apologies and excuses and promises for no more screw-ups. I asked for the name of his manager, Matt Roma. They scheduled us for Friday, so I took the day off from work, so I could deal with it. Friday morning a technician calls me and asks what's wrong with the dryer, I told him it would not start at all. He told me that it might be this or that part and I would have to reschedule so they could order the part. This was in spite of the fact that they had all of this information a week prior. I called in and asked for Matt Roma. The woman whom I spoke with was rude and short with me again. I left a message for him and he did not return my call. At that point I was done being nice, so I went in and paid Matt Roma a visit in person. I was greeted by more excuses, the guy kept looking at his feet and scrambling to put in a work order. I asked him how I was supposed to believe that they did not have the part the dryer needed in the expansive warehouse and how they could tell what part was bad without even looking at it. He had no meaningful or acceptable excuse or answer. Looking on Yelp, I wasn't surprised to see a less than 3 star rating. I would never give them another dime and neither should you.

Hi Nat. We are very sorry to hear of the poor experience that you’ve had in dealing with our company. We’ve run into some issues in recent months with a lack of staffing in the reconditioned appliance repair department, which has caused some hurdles for us. While this is certainly no excuse for providing our customers with anything less than optimal quality products, it does remind us that we need to address the issue asap in order to prevent these types of scenarios from occurring again in the future. Please accept our apology, and let us know if there is anything else we can do to assist you. I understand that one of our techs made time in his schedule to come out today to get the dryer up and running again. I hope it was a success. Please let us know if there are any future issues with either of the products.
