The staff at The Shores is wonderful, and it's like family over there for us because we are really involved in the activities that go on over there. My parents had moved into assisted living and was there for 2 years when my Dad, who had Parkinson's, had to go to the healthcare floor for round-the-clock nursing. He was there for one year and, at the time he went to healthcare, at that same time my Mom went to the memory support unit for Alzheimer's disease. My Dad passed away after 1 year, and my Mom is still in the memory support unit.

We appreciate the care they provide to our mother, and the staff is amazing. My Mom loves it there and we are blessed. The doctor said she is doing so well because of the environment there and the family support. We've really benefited from most of the settings they offer at The Shores, such as assisted living, healthcare, and memory support.

It has been six years that we've been so closely connected, and we are respected and appreciated and feel welcome. It's just a reciprocal relationship. Fortunately, we are close enough to The Shores, so we can participate. My husband is a chaplain there and sings hymns. He's done that every Saturday evening for four years and many residents look forward to that because they appreciate the old hymns, and they have fun. The Shores is very close to the ocean, too--it's in a really nice location.
