Full bag fitting was fantastic

I am a 10 handicapper looking to get back into the mid-single digits. I have an old driver (8+ years old), ancient 3 wood (15+ years), 5 year old irons and some old Vokey wedges. I expected to go into this fitting needing a new driver, 3 wood and wedges. However, I was surprised that my driver produced better numbers and dispersion than any new driver/shaft combination that the fitter (Jay) put me in. I was really impressed that he didn't try to convince me that I needed a new driver. He actually did the opposite. He said I hit mine so well that it would be a waste of money at this time.

The 3 wood fitting was a different story, I saw tremendous gains in distance and accuracy with the new Titleist and Fujikura shaft.

Then we got to the irons. Again I didn't really expect to buy irons, but I did. The new Srixon Z585s with Oban steel shafts really improved my accuracy and even give me about a half of a club more distance. Almost all of my bad holes are directly a result of bad iron shots. These new irons are going to be so much better and give me more confidence when taking dead aim. It was truly eye-opening to see how much more accurate I can be with a better head/shaft combo than my current irons.

I was "custom fit" for my old irons and driver (at different times) in a big-box store. So it was just your basic lie board test and hitting a few stock clubs until I found the best ones for me. Seeing the raw data and science behind the variations of shafts and heads is really what you are paying for at Club Champion and in my opinion, totally worth it.

The only reason I give this a 4-star for Total Experience is that the wedge fitting wasn't quite what I expected. They don't have individual heads to swap in/out with. Just pre-built wedges. They didn't have all loft/bounce/grind combinations available either. So you kind of have to take it on faith as to what I am ordering is going to produce what I expect. The wedges I am getting are just newer models of the Vokeys with slight variations in loft. I'm going from 52 and 58 both with 8 degrees of bounce to a 50, 54, and 58. The 50 and 58 are 8 degrees of bounce and the same grinds as my previous 52 and 58 respectively. The 54 is a new grind for me and a little more bounce (10 degrees) to help in the traps. Not being able to hit the 50 and 54 in the exact configuration I need or feel the custom shaft (same as in the irons) with the wedges are the only reservations that I have about the fitting. However, it is not that big of a deal, just something that I didn't expect.
