Worst retail experience ever

I heard about CC through the PGA Channel on Sirius XM radio. Everyone raved about the process of CC's club fitting. At the time of the fitting, I was a 7 index. I've been fitted before for a full set of clubs by Callaway in 2009 and have had various fittings of drivers and wedges in the interim. The Callaway fitting in Carlsbad was fantastic. My CC fitter was very rote. Nothing felt special about the fitting. When it came to select club manufacturers, the one thing I will say in their favor is that they were agnostic about the manufacturer - they didn't push any one maker over another so I felt they were being honest and forthright. Once he had gotten me through the entire fitting, he took me to a nearby computer screen and said "What do you think?" I said "I think you're insane." They wanted $7,100 for a fully fitted set of 14 clubs. At this point, it turned into a used car buying experience. He literally said, "What's going to take to get you into a set of clubs today?" Then, in an effort to lower the price, he told me my putter and 3 wedges were fine so I just needed 10 clubs. Then he stripped off the "pure tuning" and refunded part of the fitting fee. Eventually, the price came down to $3,700 for 10 clubs. The secret to their making money seems to be telling you that "the shaft is the engine on the club"and that every club needs upgraded shafts. On at least one of the clubs, the shat was more than the clubhead. If I know going in that they would want seven grand for a full set of clubs, I would never have gone there - the analogy is that I thought I was at a Lexus dealer and they sold me a Lamborghini. Can you imagine a beginner going in for their first set of clubs and getting a bill for $7,000?! The worst part is that the clubs are ill fitted and I haven't played this poorly since I started. And my index is now 10+. I have told dozens of people about my experience and thankfully, none have gone to Club Champion. This is a rip off.
