Just to start off I have fluctuated from a 10-15 handicap over the years. I never really took much thought to my equipment and wanted to get a new set of clubs. I scheduled a full bag fitting with Jim Yenser. The whole fitting takes about 3 1/2hrs. You start off hitting your own clubs. For the irons your hitting all 6 irons. He’ll get you into the right shaft and then you keep changing heads. I would say you hit about 10 shots maybe more with each iron brand until you find the best fit for you. They don’t care what brand of shaft or iron you get. Jim is concerned about what club and shaft you hit the best. Once your finished with the irons it’s on to woods. I believe I hit driver first and then 3 wood and rescue clubs. After I was fitted for the driver and woods, I was still a little uneasy about my iron selection. Jim took the extra time (we stayed past closing time) and let me hit more irons until I was satisfied. I went with the original choice but I’m pleased I knew for sure what I wanted. The last step was the putter fitting. You putt with your own putter while he collects data on your putting stroke. Then I tried about a 1/2 dozen putters and made my choice! I received my clubs a little over a week after my order. I couldn’t be more pleased. I’ve only played a few rounds with my new clubs and am loving the feel I get with the irons.
