Recently during a kitchen remodel a gas line needed to be moved 18”. The cost was for this “quick fix”was $286.00. What irritated me is the “service charge” for $39.50. Usually a service provider eliminates that fee if work is agreed to and performed. When asked the cost of moving a water line 6’ for the refrigerator, the quote was $500. I got some long speech about local code. I like high standards but not sky high prices. Their work was fine but not miraculous, they need some reality.
When asked for a quote on hooking up a sink by my daughter in law the response was $1,200 with a disposal, $900 without. Really????
