Poor Installation

The sales staff at Edwards was great until we had a problem. We purchased about $2,500 worth of carpet and had installation completed on 8/28/15.

It was a Friday installation, and it seemed that the installers were in a hurry to leave and did not complete the installation in a professional manner.

1. The installer used the stone on my front porch as a backer to cut carpet and left cut marks in the stone. I have a photo if anyone would like to see that...

2. The tack strips on the stairs protruded through the carpet. My wife called and Don, the sales person, to explain the situation and he told her that we should hammer down the strips. I guess that means that I have to complete the job for the Edwards Crew. In the mean time, my eight year old daughter punctures the skin in heel of while walking down the stair. Don never offered to have the work corrected by his crew.

3. When the crew left there were countless pieces of cuttings laying around the floor. I called to let the Edwards office know and had the pleasure of speaking with Steve, who very nicely explained to me that they did not vacuum. The unfortunate part is that I could have raked the carpet to pick up all of the left behind scrap. It was a much larger problem than simply requiring vacuuming. Again, no offer to take care of the situation. It took us over an hour to clean up after these guys.

4. My bed and my son's dresser was not put back in the correct location. So, I had to move that as well.

5. My newly painted base boards were scratched and needed to be repainted.

6. Several hand marks and smudges on the walls had to be repaired.

So, in the end, the product is fine, but the installation is very shoddy. I would not recommend Edwards or their installers in the future.

When we have called the sales team to express our concerns both Don and Steve from the south Lindbergh store have expressed how sorry they are, but how they can't help.

Hopefully this review will let future customers know how powerless the sales people are to deliver a quality project and how poor the installation experience was.
