Had this company out to install an in-line water filter for my sprinkler system.
The line was completely accessible with a 3/4 inch pipe.
The young man that came out was very nice and after he looked at it he said that it would be easy.
I asked him for a price and he had to call his boss about.
5 minutes later he showed me on his tablet the bid.
$ 600.00 DOLLARS!!....Repeat..$600.00!!!
I realized that his boss was going for a “Hail Mary”
And figured he would take a chance that I would pay it!
I kindly refused and gave the man his trip charge of $45.00.
Then I asked, since I had already purchased the filter and the couplings, how long would it have taken him and without much hesitation he said “one hour”
Don’t know about anyone else but I’ve never heard of
$600.00/ hr. For any service.
On Monday found another Plumber and got my filter installed in 45minutes and the charge was $80.00
