Needed to replace 13 windows, 2 sliding doors, and a double entry door. Due to the size of my project I wanted to get 5 estimates. Out of all 5 appts I felt Solar Shield was the only company to actually listen to my needs and gave me solutions that would solve them without the dog and pony show. Some of the companies that showed up were in ripped up blue jeans, didn't measure one thing and just said I can do it around this price. Being in business for over 40 years myself I was shocked companies would operate this way. There were others that just way over did it with slide shows on a laptop and taking up 3 hours of my time.
Solar Shield sent out Jon who was professionally dressed, and what I liked most was he was a straight shooter. He explained to me he why I wanted PGT windows and how they would solve my needs without taking up 3 hours of my time. When Jon was at my house Solar Shield was installing one of my neighbors a block away so Jon invited me down to take a look. When I arrived I noticed all installers were in professional Solar Shield shirts and that they had cloths lining the floor to protect it. I met what I was told was their top crew leader Gunnar who was extremely professional. Being in the finance world all my life I admit I know very little about construction but I've seen some homes where the windows look terrible and the windows that I saw them installing looked amazing. No damage at all to the home and it looked like the house was built with the windows. Gunnar took some time to explain to me why they use certain kind of high end caulking and at that point I told Jon he had earned my business as long as Gunnar can do my install.
Approximately 10 weeks later Gunnar came out to install my new windows and doors. I couldnt be happier with the entire process. I've saved around an average of $65 a month on my electric bill and 30% off my homeowners insurance. Everytime I go to walk my dog I consistently get rave reviews on my new windows and doors. I hope my experience helps others go with Solar Shield as well.
