Neighborhood Garage Door Service of Charlotte

Will never use them again!!

We first contacted this company in late October to repair broken garage door which they did after arriving an hour later than the scheduled time. Then a week ago when the door was raised, it didn't stop and rammed into the lamp and cover on the motor and obliterated it. So I called them back. I was told that it was pass 30 days so there would be a service call fee for coming out and that since the previous repair didn't have anything to do with the motor then the warranty didn't cover it. I told them that I didn't feel that was fair so they waived the service fee since it had just been a couple of days pass the repair. I told her that I would not pay labor costs for repair without being told ahead what it wold cost. The tech didn't show the first day that was scheduled, my husband waited for 2 hours after driving all night and called and was told that they wouldn't be able to come and rescheduled for the next day. Received call at 5 pm saying tech on the way, no one there by 5:45, called the company, dispatch said in was delayed and would be there in 20 minutes. 40 minutes later, I called again and was told tech almost there. He arrived 15 min later, no apology for being late. I showed him the garage and was told that it was messing up because a part was missing. I informed them that the previous tech didn't mention that. He proceeded to get one of the folding chairs of ours and stood on it and turned a screw a couple of times and was done. He said he needed to call it in. After 5 minutes, he came back in and said the labor costs would need to be paid. I told him that he didn't do anything but turn the sensor so the door stop. He then said his manager named Peyton wanted to speak to me. He was cordial in his initial greeting, then when I explained that the tech didn't tell me upfront then he started yelling that I expected to be paid when I go to work and that I had to pay him. I was appalled at his tone and he said he would cut me a bre as kids and instead of charging the normal fee of $129, he would just charge us $59. I told him that was a ripoff for 2 minutes of work and he said that the tech didn't drive all the way out there for no pay. I paid it but will never use them again.
