I recently attended ATA Career Education and studied Medical Assisting. I had some wonderful teachers, Ms. Knox, Ms. Jo, Mr. Franklin, and Ms. Elaine. They were amazing, knowledgeable and friendly. They were always willing to work with you individually, always willing to help. There were a few teachers who taught about more of the paperwork end of education, I felt some of the things they taught were not necessary but were probably a state requirement. The clinical classes were great, I learned so much that I use every day in my new job. I wish they taught more about how to explain information to a patient, things like patient referral and prior authorization. It is an accelerated program and a lot of information to learn in a short period of time. It was great for me and I would recommend them.
