very nice service but ulitmiately left a little disconcerted

I had a wonderful time meeting several employees at the shop where I went to view a refrigerator for my home in Arlington. While I was there inspecting the models, I happened to see a stove made by the same manufacturer and decided I would buy both items to complete the kitchen. The old stove that came with the house was good, but quite dated.

While in the shop I noticed an unusual item on top of the stove and asked the salesman what it was. He replied it was the bottom of a wok. This surprised me since I rarely hear of folks using woks anymore, but I did not think more of it.

The measuring and installation folks who came to my house were amazing. Everyone was a profressional and very courteous.

When the delivery was complete, I tried the stove. Those burners can start an airplane engine or a nuclear reactor. They are sooooo hot that everything I cooked at first either burned or over-boiled even at the lowest temperature (I simmer lots of bones for stocks for several days.)

This is when I realized that the "wok" is really a heat diffuser for large pans (a unsteady one at that!).

Long story short, I have had to buy several heat difusers for all the burners and often times even need to stack a couple of them to truly simmer my stocks.

A few weeks after my purchase, I received an email from the gentleman who helped me with the purchase and I mentioned the overly hot stove. I never received a reply to my email. This was disappointing because I did not want a refund - perhaps just a little consolation that things would work out fine!

So basically, I love my fridge but really miss my old stove. This stove will do, but had I known the truth, I would not have purchased it. I also feel a little cheated that I was not told the truth about the stove. But then again, if they had told me - the stoves would not sell . . .

I read reviews in Amazon for the heat diffusers and folks talk about how modern stoves have this massively hot burners and nobody can cook w/o excess heat or burning. I wish I had not let my old stove go!!!!
