I recently attended ATA College to become an LVN. I completed the necessary courses. All of my instructors were awesome! The director of the program was equally as awesome. I was very fortunate to have gotten accepted into the program. I have to say that everyone was really awesome except for my OB and Psychology instructor. She was very petty and an all-around b****! She really soured everything. I live nearly seventy miles away from the facility. I found that the building was always very clean. However, the equipment that we had to use during the course was falling apart and we had to use make-shift mannequins. That made it a little bit challenging at times. I would consider taking more courses at ATA College only if I was guaranteed that I would not have that one instructor that I could not stand. As for the curriculum, I wish that they had let us practice more hands-on skills instead of being sent out to jobs to learn it on our own. No one really wants an LVN who has been put right out on the street to go to work without more clinical skills being taught to us that we need to have in a job-like setting. They could emphasize that a little more. The pricing of their courses seemed quite fair in comparison to many other colleges that I had looked into. However, they seemed to be "money hungry". If you had a payment due they made a point to ask for the money right then. It is very hard since you cannot work while you are in school. They were always asking for money. Overall, it was a decent experience and I would consider taking more courses but probably not in nursing.
