Express Electrical Services

It seems the company had an agenda to make money rather than solve my electrical issue.

The tech was polite and professional. I told him I only had power in half of my house.

He looked at my outside electrical panel and stated that it was in poor condition. He recommended a complete upgrade of my panel breakers and wires.

The tech gave me three options. I can't remember the exact prices but I can come pretty close to his numbers.

For the complete upgrade option 1 was $12,200. This would replace my panel with a new one all new wires breakers pipe leading up to my roof etc. The second option was $7,800 for an electrical panel rejuvenation and new breakers. The third option was $5,900 for panel rejuvenation.

I told the tech we would get other estimates before making our decision.

My wife went on line and found the average cost to replace an electrical panel. Those prices were $800-$2000 depending on the type of panel and material used.

My wife got in touch with Home Depot's pro contractor group. One tech called and was at my house within an hour.

Within 5 minutes he told me the complete opposite of what the express electrical tech told me.

This tech told me my panel looked good. He looked up at my roof within 5 minutes diagnosed the problem.

The problem was a poor line connection from my power to the service provider. The tech also said he suspected the line from my power to the service provider was bad too.

He instructed to call the service provider and explain the problem.
My service provider came out that night and fixed the problem at zero cost to me.

It is a shame that companies are so focused on making money they totally forget about customer service.

If my wife and I wouldn't have checked. We would've spent money we didn't have and we would have paid for something we didn't need.

This makes me wonder how often these predatory tactics occur.
